Adding a buck that is not yours (Stud Buck)

It can be helpful to add a buck to your account that does not belong to you, so that you can better track the lineage of offspring. Here are a few things to note when doing this:

Add a new Category.

You can create a Breeder Category titled “Not my rabbits”, “Studs”, or “Sperm donors”, to indicate the rabbit/s are not yours. Categories can be added from the Breeders page. Learn more about that HERE.

If the buck’s owner DOES NOT have Everbreed follow these steps:
  • Add a new Breeder and enter all of the bucks information that you would like to keep for your record, including pedigree.
  • Once the buck is saved as a Breeder breed it to your doe.
  • After that you can archive the buck so that he does not count against your total Breeder count.
If you do not know how to add a new Breeder, you can learn how to HERE.

If the buck’s owner DOES have Everbreed follow these steps:
  • The owner can sell you the buck for $0.
  • Once he is added to your account, breed him to your doe.
  • After that you can sell the buck back. The records you have will stay intact.
If you do not know how to sell a rabbit in Everbreed you can learn how to HERE.
