Adding a buck that is not yours (Stud Buck)

It can be helpful to add a buck to your account that does not belong to you, so that you can better track the lineage of offspring. Here are a few things to note when doing this:

Add a new Category.

You can create a Breeder Category titled “Not my rabbits”, “Studs”, or “Sperm donors”, to indicate the rabbit/s are not yours. Categories can be added from the Breeders page. Learn more about that HERE.

If the buck’s owner DOES NOT have Everbreed follow these steps:

Add a new Breeder and enter all of the bucks information that you would like to keep for your record, including pedigree.
Once the buck is saved as a Breeder breed it to your doe.
After that you can archive the buck so that he does not count against your total Breeder count.
If you do not know how to add a new Breeder, you can learn how to HERE.

If the buck’s owner DOES have Everbreed follow these steps:

The owner can sell you the buck for $0.
Once he is added to your account, breed him to your doe.
After that you can sell the buck back. The records you have will stay intact.
If you do not know how to sell a rabbit in Everbreed you can learn how to HERE.
